As the crisp air begins to envelop us – it can only mean one thing. Fall is almost here and I am ready to let the Halloween preparation begin! September does a great job transitioning from Summer to Fall. Bringing us from the hot, humid heat of the Northeast, we are more than ready for some chills. It’s also the month of my birthday. I was pregnant with my son this time last year so this year – momma wants a drink!
I’ve been seeing every Halloween cocktail imaginable lately but most notably, the Witches Brew Cocktail. I also found the Black Widow absolutely mouthwatering. Now, although both drinks look amazing.. I felt they were each missing the most important part of Halloween. Pumpkins! My course of action to get the best of both recipes AND my pumpkin flavor was for this witch to create her own brew.
After blending, you’ll find this drink begins with the smooth, mellow pumpkin taste from the rim and finishes with a tart, sweet, candy flavor. This is the perfect combination for someone who loves Halloween and has a sweet tooth to go with it. Of course, adjust these ingredients to suit your taste buds!
With that being said, let’s get into it and make ourselves the Witches Brew Widow! The PERFECT spooky Halloween Cocktail that will leave you and your guests under its spell.
What You’ll Need:
- 1 shot vodka
- 1 shot blue curacao
- 1 oz grenadine
- 2 oz sprite
- 2 tbsp pumpkin pie syrup
- 2 tbsp sugar
- 2 blackberries
- 2 raspberries
How You’ll Make it:
Start by smashing 2 blackberries and 2 raspberries together in a cup. You can blend them down to preference (I prefer to keep mine a little chunky).
Add the vodka and blend until you have a red tinted mixture. Next, add in your grenadine, sprite, and blue caracao. Blend in a shaker until your drink is a dark purple color.
Take an empty drink glass and roll the rim in pumpkin pie syrup. Roll the syrup rim in sugar. Any sugar can be used, but brown sugar or any flavored sugar will work best. I’ve found large granule sugars don’t stick as well so try to use a basic granulated size.
Add large cubed ice to your now syrup rimmed glass and pour in your cocktail. You now have yourself a Witches Brew Widow! A few notes on this – remember, it is a sweet, candy drink. Adjust the amount of grenadine and blue curacao if you want the tart flavor without all the extra sugar. It’s great both ways.
And that’s it! This Halloween, allow the Witches’ Brew Widow to let its enchanting flavors transport you to the supernatural world. Whether you’re hosting a Halloween party or enjoying an evening by the fire, this spooky elixir will cast its spell on all who dare to indulge. Cheers to a night filled with eerie delights!
